University Police & Parking front entrance temporarily closed due to construction

The front entrance of the University Police & Parking Department will be closed, due to construction, through July of 2026. UPD officers will continue to patrol and be available 24/7, but walk-in reports will be unavailable during this time. Parking enforcement will be suspended through June of 2026. You can contact UPD at 479-788-7140 or updFREEuafs. As always, if you have an emergency please dial 911.

The UAFS Police Department (UPD) is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Our certified law enforcement officers serve as the primary responders for all properties owned, controlled, or leased by the university. UPD operates 24/7, 365 days a year, ensuring that help is always available when you need it.

Who We Are

All UAFS police officers are highly trained professionals, certified by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training. Each officer meets the same rigorous physical, educational, and ethical standards as any other law enforcement officer in the state. Full-time officers must complete a state-approved police academy within one year of hire, undergoing more than 480 hours of instruction in areas such as:

  • Ethics and professional conduct
  • Search and seizure laws
  • Criminal investigation procedures
  • Emergency vehicle operations
  • Arrest and defense tactics

Our officers are armed, have full arrest authority, and are dedicated to proactive crime prevention, incident response, and community engagement.

What We Do

UPD officers work around the clock to prevent crime, investigate incidents, and assist the UAFS community in maintaining a safe campus. While our station’s normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, officers are on duty at all times, even outside of office hours. If you need assistance, you can always reach an officer.

Your safety is our priority. Whether responding to emergencies, offering safety resources, or fostering positive connections within our campus community, the UAFS Police Department is dedicated to protecting and serving our Lion family.
