The College of Arts and Sciences houses the disciplines that study natural and mathematical phenomena and their applications. Students gain knowledge and skills within each of these fields, becoming informed citizens who can effectively serve society as teachers, researchers, and inventors. New horizons are explored and explained through critical thought, investigative proficiency, and effective communication in the ethical pursuit of knowledge.

B.S. in Mathematics

B.S. in Mathematics with Teacher Licensure

The Bachelor of Science in math with teacher licensure (grades 7-12) provides an in-depth curriculum taught by accomplished mathematics and education faculty. Mathematics

This 16-hour minor is intended for non-majors interested in a basic understanding of mathematics above their minimum degree requirement. Students with advanced training in mathematics and statistics in addition to their primary discipline have a significant advantage in pursuing research-based opportunities in graduate school and employment. Applied Statistics

This 18-hour minor will allow students to effectively conduct research and accurately interpret statistical reports in the media and in journal articles. It will further develop critical thinking and analytic skills. Students will gain experience with hands-on, real-world problems and be equipped with a broader foundation of statistical knowledge and techniques ensuring capable information management.
