In the WATC welding technology program, students learn basic and advanced welding in four areas: ARC, TIG, MIG, and layout and fabrication . Students' welding skills must meet the American Welding Society certification test standards for both structural and high-pressure vessel welding . Successful students earn welding certificates of proficiency in ARC, TIG, MIG, and layout and fabrication . They complete the two-year program with 38 hours of college credit which apply to an associate of applied science degree or a bachelor’s degree from UA Fort Smith .
