The early childhood education program provides students with the knowledge and skills to serve as an effective early childhood provider or teaching assistant . Successful students will earn 27 hours of college credit that may be applied to the associate of applied science degree in Early Childhood Education at UA Fort Smith . In addition, students successfully completing their first year are eligible to receive their Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate .
