Dental Hygiene Admission Requirements
Admission Criteria:

To be considered for admission into the program, students must meet the following criteria:
1. Complete university admission requirements to include submission of official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.
2. Meet minimum skill levels in math, English, and reading according to the following criteria:
Course work indicating completion of MATH 1403 or higher
ACT or COMPASS English scores (taken within the last four years) or course work indicating placement into ENGL 1203 Freshman English I
ACT or COMPASS reading scores (taken within the last four years) or course work indicating no reading required
3. Have a minimum 2.50 cumulative grade point (GPA) average for all college course work (including transfer work and excluding developmental courses)
4. Complete required prerequisite courses for the Dental Hygiene Program prior to application deadline
5. Take the Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) Health Occupations Aptitude Examination. *For more information about testing, go to http://www.uafs.edu/testing/tests.
6. Submit Dental Office Observation Verification Form (verification forms may be used for two years after the dates of observation)
NOTE: The application process for the Dental Hygiene Program requires a criminal background check. Students with an adverse or negative background check will be unable to complete the program objectives, halting continued progression in the student's program of study. Licensure also requires a state and federal criminal background check.
