Policies for Full Online Course Instructors

  • Instructors who plan to teach online courses must be certified to teach online.
  • Instructors who plan to deliver course material online must get approval from the college dean and should receive a UA Fort Smith Online Course Development Checklist from the dean to guide the course development.
  • Instructors who plan to deliver course material online should have the web course completely or partially developed, reviewed, and approved before committing to teach that course online.
  • Instructors who have online courses ready for review should ask the dean and the director of instructional support to review the course. The dean will decide whether the course should be released and will recommend modifications or changes if necessary.
  • If a course needs significant modifications or changes, the dean and the director of instructional support will review the course again after the changes are made.

  • Instructors who plan to teach web-enhanced courses must be certified to teach online.
  • Instructors who plan to deliver course material online must get approval from the college dean and should receive a UA Fort Smith Online Course Development Checklist from the dean to guide the course development.
  • Instructors who plan to deliver a web-enhanced course must have the web course developed and approved two weeks before the class begins. Approval is subject to review by the college dean.
