When can I sign up?
Registration for classes is taken until one business day before the first day of class if space is available. It is recommended for the preparation of materials, handouts etc that you register as early as possible. Some of our popular classes are limited in space and fill up.
How do I enroll in a class?
You may enroll in a class either by phone at 479-788-7220, in person at our office, or print the registration form and fax it to us at 479-424-6220.
When do I pay my registration fee?
Payment is due prior to the first class meeting. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration and payment should be made to guarantee your place in class. We accept payment by check, Visa or MasterCard, and Discover. We also accept cash payments for the exact amount only. We cannot make change. If paying by check make the check payable to UAFS Center for Lifelong Learning. To pay by Discover, Visa or MasterCard please call our office at 479-788-7220.
Where do classes meet?
Most classes meet on UAFS main campus however, please check your schedule for location and room assignments. If you need directions please call us at 479-788-7220.
Where your office located and what are your hours?
The Center for Lifelong Learning is located in the Kinkead Annex, on the SW corner of the intersection of Kinkead and Waldron, Fort Smith. The specific address is 5318-B Kinkead Avenue if you need it for your GPS. Our office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
How do I drop a class?
Please call our office at 479-788-7220 as soon as possible to drop a class. At least 24 hours notice prior to class start is required for refund or credit.
What is your refund policy?
Please e-mail or call the Center with your request and reason for dropping. If the class is cancelled prior to the start then a refund or credit is offered. No refunds are offered after the class has started.
My class was cancelled. Why?
Sometimes classes are cancelled due to low enrollment. We are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause you. If we cancel class then you may take a full refund or apply the cost towards another class in the semester.
Do you call and remind me?
We endeavor to call all class participants 2 -3 days prior to the class as a courtesy reminder. This is one reason to provide us with a cellphone, or alternative number in order to make contact with you.
Pricing and Discounts
We try very hard to keep our prices competitive with the alternatives you may have in the area and we appreciate your business. As we are an independent operating unit we look to cover our material and instructor costs and therefore do not offer significant discounts. If we offer a discount then only one discount offering applies per course.
Couples Pricing
...for classes indicated we offer “couples pricing”. Bring a friend, Mom, Dad, sibling, spouse or significant other and receive the “couples” pricing. One person may register but full details for the second person (name/address/birth date/phone number) must be provided at that time.
60+ Card Holders
...UAFS 60+ card holders will receive $10.00 discount per class and must mention they are a card holder at time of registration. Discount will not apply to classes where the cost is $30 or less or to travel.
Family Pricing
...classes that indicate family pricing will show the price for at least one adult accompanying the total siblings from the household.
Package Pricing
...several classes may be grouped together and offered at a “package price”. No other discounts apply.
UAFS Faculty and Staff
...UAFS faculty and staff will receive $10.00 discount per class and must mention they are staff/faculty at time of registration. Discount will not apply to classes where the cost is $30 or less or to travel.
