Introduction to Letterpress Workshop

Two Saturdays: June 9 & June 16, from 9 a.m. 5 p.m.

Instructor: Katie Harper

 

This letterpress workshop offers an introduction to hand set metal and wooden type, letterpress printing techniques, and limited edition printing on fine papers. Simple projects from this workshop may include greeting cards or small prints (broadsides). Bring a sack lunch and enjoy this wonderful experience.

 

• No prior letterpress experience necessary.
• Class is limited to 10 students.

We are located at the SW corner of Waldron and Kinkead. The Center for Lifelong Learning's offices provided a convenient location available to everyone.

Learning Opportunities

Center offers the following opportunities for people of all interests:

• Personal Enrichment – Take pilates, yoga, ballroom dancing, learn foreign languages (Japanese, German, Spanish, French), improve your digital photography, oil painting, and more! Classes are offered on-campus at convenient evening or weekend times to meet your schedule.
• Professional Development for Teachers – Earn professional development credits for training in technology, parental involvement, and other fields
• Lifelong Learning Lecture series– Offers learning opportunities for students to participate in short classes with topics relevant to the River Valley or a wider viewpoint
• Travel and Tours – Enjoy day leisure travel or overnight trips to various places around the U.S. and the world.  Our Travel and Tours program offers incredible experiences.
• Scholar Series – Offered each spring and fall semester, UAFS professors share their research interests in such varied fields as history, engineering, math, science, and health
• 60+ Activity Card - Services and discounts for seniors 60+
• E-Learning - UA Fort Smith has partnered with ED2GO, Gatlin Education, and McKissock 100% Education to offer hundreds of online, instructor-facilitated employee training courses and certificates.
