UAFS Celebrates 1,928 Minutes of Giving

Written By: Rachel Putman

The University of Arkansas Fort Smith is set to celebrate its Day of Giving, starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, and concluding at 3:08 p.m. on Friday, April 26. Spanning a total of 1,928 minutes, this event marks a tribute to the university’s founding and aims to raise over $100,000 to support a variety of special projects and initiatives enhancing student experiences and support.

This year, UAFS is focusing its efforts on 18 critical projects, including scholarships for adult degree completion, design group initiatives, student research competitions, and many more vital areas. An in-person event, Numa’s Birthday Party, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at the UAFS Campus Center where every project will celebrate their efforts and engage with other students.

Note: Numa’s Birthday Party Thursday at 11 is likely the best opportunity for photo/video of this event. We are also happy to share any photos or video as needed, and will share a recap late Friday evening after tallying is complete day is over.

New for 2024, this year’s Day of Giving will feature 'Power Hours' and matching gift opportunities where donations are doubled thanks to the generosity of sponsors and key supporters like AT&T, local businesses, and UAFS senior leadership. Notable matching gifts include up to $2,500 by AT&T for the Finish Scholarship and significant contributions from UAFS executives towards scholarships and emergency funds.

UAFS encourages everyone in the community to participate by sharing information, attending the Day of Giving events, and donating to projects close to their hearts. For more information or to become an ambassador, visit the UAFS Day of Giving website.
